The Intel Museum Visitor Experience





Challenge

Intel engaged EXP to bring a new sense of energy to the existing Intel Museum. Based upon existing structures, our challenge was to engage visitors, and provide an interactive experience that leaves them with a sense of Intel’s history and its future while, most importantly, putting a friendly face on Intel.


Approach

To accomplish this, we initially crafted 45-minute interactive tours of the museum. One tour was targeted towards adults and one was targeted towards children. Each was designed to create an interactive, age-appropriate experience for guests.

Then EXP hired and trained a staff of theatrically oriented, docents.  These theatrical guides greet guests, provide ad hoc and pre-scheduled tours, and teach classes for school field trips.

Over the course of the past two years, EXP has also designed several interactive exhibits — allowing guests more direct hands-on involvement with Intel technology. In addition, we restructured and currently manage the local marketing strategy to increase attendance.


Result

Based upon the new tour approach and the well-trained staff, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. And the new marketing strategy has had a positive impact, increasing overall annual attendance. The program has been a success — strategically and financially.
